AP Assembly Speaker made unwarranted remarks on YSRCP MLAs absconding the assembly sessions but taking wages without fail has met severe backlash from the opposition party. The party’s spokesperson Ambati Rambabu spoke to media and condemned Speaker’s remarks. He asked if there is a custom to not take salaries if MLAs absent from the sessions. He asked if there is any such law preventing giving salaries to elected legislators. He fired at Speaker’s remarks and said that his remarks will make democracy advocates hang their heads in shame.
Ambati asked if Deputy Speaker got chance to sit in the Speaker’s chair for at least 5 days in the last five years. He expressed doubt that CM might have worry that the Deputy Speaker is not as obedient as Kodela.
YCP has banned from attending the assembly due to inaction by the Speaker on those MLAs who defected from their party.
